Happy October Handbid Family! We took a little time from our last release in August to add in a few, which might be an understatement, new features to the platform that we are excited to share with you!
Now you can capture recurring donations through any Handbid event. In the auction settings, head over to a new tab, DONATIONS, where you can enable recurring donations from bidders. In the settings, you can enable monthly, quarterly or annual frequencies as well as set a time limit on how long a recurring donation can last:
Managers can also view, manage and create recurring donations within the manager by going to a new menu on the left panel: Donations/Recurring (see below):
From this menu, managers can pull up a donation and edit it, suspend it, cancel it or refund/fix failed payments:
End users, when making a donation, will be able to decide to make their donation recurring. From there they can select a frequency and period for their donation:
After they have their donation setup, they can manage (edit/ pause/activate) their donations from their account menu on events.handbid.com.
Users will also be able to view and manage their recurring donations from the iPhone and Android apps for Handbid. Look for that in our next App release!
Handbid Premium Live Streaming
While YouTube is a fantastic live streaming choice for many charity clients, we do have organizations who want a faster, more real-time streaming experience for their guests. We have integrated state of the art live streaming technology, WebRTC, and are excited to announce a new Handbid Live Streaming option.
This premium service is fast. What do we mean by fast? You will need to schedule a demo to check it out, but we think you will be blown away with the sub-one-second latency we typically see through this service.
Interested in a demo or adding Handbid Premium Live Streaming to your upcoming event? Please contact your sales representative or schedule a demo for more information.
Salsa Engage Integration
We are excited to add Salsa Engage to our growing list of CRM integrations. With the Salsa Engage connector, Salsa customers can synchronize their contacts and transactions when their auction/event closes back to Salsa Engage. To enable this feature, go to your organization settings and select “Salsa” as your CRM. Be sure to pull the API token that is generated and available in your Salsa Engage account settings as you will need that to complete the connection between Handbid and Salsa Engage.
Live Real-Time Auctioneer Dashboard (iPad App)
Earlier this month we released an iPad update that provided a live dashboard within our iPad app. Working with trusted and experienced virtual event auctioneers, we constructed a dashboard that gives the auctioneer running a live stream real time information at their fingertips!
The dashboard shows donations, donation totals, bidding activity as well as information about the current item (promoted) that is up for bid. We have tested this dashboard with several auctioneers over the last month and received great reviews and feedback, which we plan to incorporate into future updates. To take advantage of this dashboard, please download the latest Handbid App for iPad and go to the manager section to view:
With great feedback from users and end-users, we also continue to make regular improvements to the platform. This includes squashing bugs, improving usability, and making the overall platform performance better. In addition to the features listed above, we have also added the following in this release:
- Added a search item box to make it easier to find items to promote on the live stream.
- Hide “closed auctions” on events.handbid.com when visiting an organization’s page.
- Improved the synchronization efficiency for Bloomerang and Kindful CRM.
- Bloomerang clients using the peer-to-peer platform can now issue a soft credit to the page owner in Bloomerang.
- Improved messaging speed and delivery access to our overseas auction clients in NZ, Australia and Europe.
- Numerous speed and performance improvements to both events.handbid.com and the Auction Manager site.
We hope you like these improvements and find them beneficial to your fundraising efforts! We can’t wait to push out our 2.43 release in a few weeks.
